Child protection at ECHS
Boarding means the school is a child's home. We treat the safety of that home as the first job, before teaching.
Our commitment
Every child at ECHS has the right to learn free from violence, harassment, exploitation and neglect. Staff and volunteers are selected with their record in mind, trained on the policy, and held to it by the house system that watches over students day and night.
How students get help
- Each house has a named patron or matron a student can speak to privately.
- Any staff member can receive a report; none of them is allowed to sit on it.
- Cases of harm are escalated to school leadership the same day and documented.
Reporting a concern
If you are a parent, guardian, neighbour, visitor or student with a safeguarding concern, call +256 742 204 494 or email info@empathycommunityhighschool.org with the word "concern" in the subject line. Reports are handled discreetly, and we do not retaliate against anyone who raises one in good faith.
