Visitors bring skills, encouragement and new ideas. They also pass through our safeguarding checks before they meet students.

Where volunteers usually fit

  • Teaching support: science, mathematics, English and exam technique clinics.
  • Mentoring: reading with younger students, guidance on subject choices and careers.
  • Skills transfer: first aid, sports coaching, library work, basic IT for staff.
  • Professional help: accounting, legal, health campaigns and infrastructure advice.

What we ask of you

  • A police or council children's clearance where required for contact with students.
  • Agreement to our child protection policy, explained before your first day.
  • Reliability: a plan you keep is worth more than a week you vanish from.
